Oh, September. The beginning of autumn. Leaves are changing, Pumpkin everything is showing up in stores, and it’s National Yoga Month. Say what?
National Yoga Month is a great time to celebrate. Here are five ways you can get involved.
- Do Yoga in the Park
Please take advantage of the warm weather before it’s too late to practice outdoors.
What could be more beautiful than doing yoga in a park with changing leaves on a sunny Indian summer’s day?
- Try Something New
Have you ever wanted to try AcroYoga, SUP Yoga, or both? Why not dedicate a whole month to all things yoga?
Grab a friend, get out of your comfort zone, and expand your yogic horizons by trying a new style of yoga. You might find your favorite type of yoga.
- Visit a Studio
You can shake up your home practice by going to a studio. Although I enjoy practicing at home with a video guide, there is something to be gained from practicing in a studio.
Go to your local yoga studio and make some new friends. Enjoy the energy that comes from practicing in a group.
- Get Together
Why not organize a gathering now that you’ve made all these new cool yoga studio friends?
You can invite your yoga friends to a movie or dinner to get to know them better. You may find you have more in common with each other than just your love for yoga.
- Treat Yourself
You’ve been eyeing a new pair of leggings. Maybe you need a new yoga mat.
Treat yourself. In September, you can pamper yourself by buying new yoga equipment or having a spa day. A happy yogi makes a good one.
- Meditate on Gratitude
You can be thankful right now, even though Thanksgiving isn’t until November.
You can thank a higher power for yoga and the many benefits it brings to your life. Spread that goodness around the world.
