Finding Balance with Outdoor Yoga

It is amazing to see so many lovely photos of yogis in outdoor settings holding a pose or sitting in meditation surrounded by trees, a sunset, or a big forest. Outdoor yoga really makes for beautiful photos.

How many of us have ever practiced outside the studio?

Yoga: A New World Of Yoga

For many yoga practitioners – beginners and experts alike – practicing in a small area can feel confining. You want to be outside, especially on beautiful days. Why not?

Yoga outdoors can help you to develop more mindfulness and balance in your practice.

The goal of yoga is to find the right balance between the breath, body, and thoughts, as well as to live a balanced lifestyle. To maintain a balanced life, we must change our routines from time to time. Yoga can be practiced anywhere and in any way.

Outdoor Yoga Is All About Finding Balance

You’ll immediately feel the difference when you practice any yoga pose outdoors, whether it is on a rocky hill, on uneven grass, on a sandy shore, or in the water. The difference isn’t just about balance.

It’s about developing mindfulness so that you can feel balanced no matter what the situation. It’s all about taking your yoga outside of the studio and into the real world, where things aren’t symmetrical or perfectly protected.

It is about dealing with elements such as wind, water, and heat. It also includes distractions like birds chirping, people walking past, lawnmowers, or crashing waves.

Paying attention to real elements can help the body learn to adapt to unfamiliar situations, and the brain can also be trained to do so.

Challenge Yourself Outdoors

If you haven’t done yoga outside before, try a pose on different surfaces, such as sand, grass, or water.

What is the effect of the surface on your balance?

What challenges does this surface present to you? Balance? Control of the muscles? Attention control?

What do you see on the surface? Is the surface easier to pose? Or more difficult?

What new challenges can you create with that surface?

What is the impact on your mind?

What is the effect on your concentration?

Take the pose back to the mat and the floor in the studio. You’ll be surprised at how much your body has changed.
